Hyatt Hotels Corporation opened Hyatt Times Square New York, the seventh hotel to be added to the Hyatt-branded portfolio in Manhattan, says Michelle Nicolette, Director, Worldwide Accounts, Hyatt Hotels Corp. The 487-room hotel stands 54 stories high, making it the tallest newly built, freestanding Hyatt hotel in the United States. The George Wong-designed guestrooms offer an intimate, apartment-like feel with floor-to-ceiling windows. The décor juxtaposes neutral, light-toned fabrics and warm woods with brilliantly colored, city-themed art pieces, including a pop-art lounge chair created by a local artist. With only 11 rooms per floor, the hotel also features 49 suites. Its 2,000 square foot meeting center features pre-function areas and three adjacent rooms, each with a terrace and natural light as well as state-of-the-art audiovisual facilities.
