NYSAE’s Executive Women in Nonprofits SIG
To Examine Board Relationships

In its first two gatherings, NYSAE’s Executive Women in Nonprofits SIG* focused on mentoring and the people who have mentored, sponsored and influenced us. On September 13, it will explore business relationships and how to carry these relationships into the boardroom. What makes for functional or dysfunctional business relationships and how can they affect the work of a nonprofit board? How do relationships play out in the boardroom and what are the special dynamics between women and men? What keeps you up on the eve of your board meetings? To prepare for the discussion, reference Harvard Business Review’s “Dysfunction in the Boardroom: Understanding the persistent gender gap at the highest levels.” Click here to download the report.

The program will be facilitated by Linda Ferm, CAE, president of Ferm Strategies, a consulting group that works with nonprofit CEOs and Boards. A former member of the NYSAE Board of Directors and recipient of NYSAE's Distinguished Service and Outstanding Associate Member awards, Ferm is a former executive director, interim executive director, member of nonprofit boards and she specializes in boardroom facilitation.

The program will be held from 8:30 a.m.–10:00 a.m. at the office of the New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA)1540 Broadway, Suite 1010 (entrance on West 45th Street). Special thanks to NYSSA for space and continental breakfast.
