NYSAE Elects New Officers and Directors at Annual Meeting

Carter E. Keithley, President, Toy Industry Association, and NYSAE Chair of the Board

Over the past year, the demand for NYSAE's programs and services from the association and nonprofit community continued to increase, reported Carter Keithley, NYSAE chair of the board and president, Toy Industry Association, at NYSAE's Annual Meeting, held at the Doubletree by Hilton Metropolitan Hotel. The Annual Meeting luncheon was sponsored by the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

"More than 15 educational offerings, including shared interest groups, were presented during the past 10 months. Our Institutes and Career Development Workshops all experienced excellent reviews and attendance," he added.

Keithley also noted the increased interest in InView, NYSAE's online publication, which continued to be well received by both association executives and suppliers. "InView enabled NYSAE to continue to utilize technology as a strong vehicle to communicate with members and promote several NYSAE programs—both before and afterward."

"Another highlight of the year was NYSAE's Holiday Party, a cocktail reception at the American Heart Association's rooftop board and conference room," said Keithley. With stellar views of the heart of New York City at night, it was the perfect setting for a sold-out event.

Joel A. Dolci, CAE, NYSAE President and CEO

Joel A. Dolci, CAE, NYSAE president and CEO, reported that NYSAE's membership from outside New York State now represents 15 percent of our regular members. "What makes this even more meaningful is that our membership includes representatives from all nonprofits," said Dolci. NYSAE's membership continues to be represented with 55 percent from the 501c6 association community and 45 percent from the 501c3 donor-based community. "I'm pleased to report compared to SAEs throughout the country, NYSAE has the largest representation of donor-based nonprofits as members. From a percentage standpoint, we even have more C3 organizations than ASAE."

Pointing to the value of strategic alliances, Dolci noted the special partnership with the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau at this year's MeetNY. The Hosted Buyer Event experienced its largest attendance in the show's five-year history.

"If you thought this year's strategic partnership was successful, wait until next year when we will have the Hard Rock Café marquee for an extended period throughout the entire MeetNY program. Associate members will have the opportunity to add their logos to be displayed throughout the day on Broadway in Times Square."

Both Keithley and Dolci acknowledged the dedication of many, which led to a successful year. Each thanked the officers and other board members, committee chairs and members, as well as the hard-working NYSAE staff.
