I was pleasantly surprised by recently being acknowledged (via email) that I am now a Senior Reviewer at Tripadvisor.com . Feels pretty good. Besides having that title by my name, they sent me these cool luggage tags!

As communities continue to flourish online, many organizations continue to build in engagement recognition awards as users reach certain levels of usage. Even something as simple as granting a cool-looking title can be enough to entice people to use a site. Random drawings for prizes among most engaged members or point exchanges for gifts (like the old Green Stamps or credit card points) is also common - more so on e-commerce sites for spending a certain amount of money. Other ideas include releasing premium content or apps to the more engaged users of your site (a Facebook "Like" campaign whereby those who like your Facebook page are given something in return).

What are some other ways to reward your community members for their participation on your community site?
