Doug Brown

Doug Brown, Paradigm Associates LLC, was interviewed by Professional Insurance Agency (PIA) magazine's Editor, Jaye Czupryna. Among other things discussed and tips shared, Doug talked about organizations that don't see developing customer (or donor) loyalty as a point of strategic differentiation may be looking at their organization through the lens of short-term focus. Knowing and communicating the lifetime value of a typical customer (or donor) to the staff can provide them a framework for maintaining customer relationships, rather than looking at them from a transactional basis. Brown is also teaching two sessions for the 4th Annual National Minority Business Council’s Executive Management Certificate Program, one on Developing a Business Plan and the other on Selling: Getting Customers and Keeping Them.

Total Management Solutions, has been selected by Women in Flavor and Fragrance Commerce (WFFC) as its full service management company. Sheila Guston, CAE, President and CEO of the company will serve as the association’s Executive Director. WFFC provides networking and educational opportunities for women in the flavor and fragrance industries.

Amish Mehta, CPA Partner, Friedman LLP, and a member of NYSAE’s Board of Directors, along with Peter Manzetti, Director at Friedman, presented a GuideStar Webinar for Not-For-Profit Board Members and Senior Management. In addition to sharing a case study on the recently developed performance dashboard of Big Brothers Big Sisters, they gave an overview of the benefits of creating, developing and improving a performance dashboard to help meet an organization's mission and enhance its overall operations. The webinar also covered: understanding the timeline for creating an effective dashboard; identifying and implementing a system to measure the dashboard's effectiveness; and assessing the short and medium trade-offs between the desired measures and available data.
