There never seems to be enough time in the day. When every minute counts, we are all always trying to find ways to be more productive and technology can be a great time saver. I’m always on the lookout for new tools that help me work smarter, not harder.
Some of my personal favorites:
Basecamp - This cloud-based program streamlines project communications, scheduling, milestone tracking, asset sharing, and workflow from an easy-to-use interface.
Dropbox - Dropbox is a free service that lets you bring your photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily.
Publishthis - Curate content from top sources and influential voices in your industry, add original commentary, and establish yourself as a trusted authority.
I reached out to my colleagues here at Kellen and asked them for their favorite technology that helps them do more with less.
A persistent favorite among my colleagues,
Google Docs - “It may sound simple, but both of my groups are having success right now using Google Docs. A central place where everyone can collaborate on spreadsheets and documents, without having to continually save-attach-email … it’s all real time so there’s no duplication of efforts or loss in translation.” – Mike Pennington, Atlanta
Doodle.com - “It is the best tool ever to schedule meetings with groups of individuals. Free version is available, or one can pay an annual fee and customize with client logo. It’s an administrative time and sanity-saver!”– Carol Freysinger, Washington, D.C.
Smartsheet.com - “Like Excel, but on steroids. You can work collaboratively and share your workspaces with others. There is a free version, or you can upgrade for $14 a month.”– Kelly McLendon, Atlanta
Zoom - “It’s a video conferencing service. There is a free version if you keep your calls to 40 minutes.”– Ellery Moses, New York. I’d also recommend Skype and Google+ hangouts for video calls.
