Committees are essential to the growth and prosperity of most not-for-profit organizations, community groups, associations and similar groups. They provide growth opportunities for not only the organizations they serve, but also for the people who serve on them.
Having spent my career in the association sector, I can tell you that working with committees - both as a staff liaison and a volunteer - is one of the most rewarding experiences in my professional - and personal - life.
Committee participation lets you "stretch their legs" outside of the normal workday. They enable you practice soft skills like negotiation, communication, collaboration, and more. They help you build strong relationships - and friendships - and results - that last a life time.
NYSAE needs committee members to help develop the programming for the upcoming year. Committees are forming now and the application is online through June 30th at

All good postings should include a quote, and in this case, there is none better than:
"There's nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer." ― James Doolittle
That's pretty self-explanatory.
See you all soon!
