Scenario

It is 2018. You are part of the leadership team of an association or nonprofit. You are facing a concern that all mission-driven organizations have. The once loyal community has now shifted – They have sought out alternative information sources, found new online groups in which to network, are constantly bombarded with “opportunities” from every direction. The usual efforts to get their attention are falling flat. Your usual communications tools have lost their edge. You need to get them back! You need to energize them! You need them to heed the call! But just how can you do that?

Luckily, we have technology and techniques to come to the rescue. Technology that stores information about our community’s participants. Techniques of tapping into that information to extract nearly every possible insight into their needs. But, where to start?

The Re-Engagement Tech(niques) Summit will help you to learn critical aspects of combining the technology you have with techniques you need to raise your engagement factor ten-fold. From your membership management system to analytics and even focus groups, the ability to re-engage your community in today’s digital landscape is literally at your fingertips!

The event will be emceed by David Teisler, Director of Communications, Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.

“Personalize Your Content and Messaging”

Presenters
Mitch Glenn, Director, Information Technology, The Advertising Research Foundation
Craig Delorso, Director of Business Development for C Systems Global and CEO and Founder of Confluence Global based in Fairfax, VA.

In 2018, your audience expects you to know them. Everywhere they go, whether it is Facebook or Google or to their favorite pizza joint, they are presented with content, services and information that speaks directly to them. One of the most important things you can do as an organization is to personalize your content and messaging. Using modern day technology such as your AMS, mail systems, business intelligence systems and your website, associations and nonprofits can ensure that the conversations you are having are meaningful to each person. In this session, you will learn how you can leverage various tools and systems to personalize your content and messaging.

10:00 AM - 10:50 AM Session 2

"Defining and Creating Personas"

Presenters
Adam Hostetter, Owner of NotchPoint Consultants
Denman Wall, Sr. Director of Interactive Services, Dolci Interactive

A Persona is sometimes defined as a role or character that is played by an actor. In much the same way, engagement designers create personas to represent people who might use a website, attend an event, purchase a product or service. Typically, there are primary personas and secondary personas. Knowing how these people will respond to the offerings that your organization provides is key to predicting success. In this session, you will learn how to define and create personas so that you can more effectively engage your audience in person and online.

10:50 AM - 11:00 AM Break

11:00 AM - 12 PM Session 3

“5 (Tech) Things That Should Keep You Awake”

Presenter
Raphael Badagliacca, Business Development Executive at Advanced Solutions International, Inc.

There are many concerns that can keep you from getting the shuteye that you need to be on top of your professional game. Some of them can cause you to toss and turn, but some just pass bye without a flinch. In this session, we will share five technology-centric concerns that should keep you awake, if they are not already. Some, you may already know about. But others, you will certainly want to know about so that you can be ready to address them when they come your organization’s way.

The summit will be immediately followed by the 2018 NYSAE Annual Meeting and Luncheon.
