Dr. Rehr is one of the top researchers of association performance in the association community, and recently was well received for his presentation at the NYSAE CEO Connect: Harmony in the C-Suite: The CEO and the Elected Leader Relationship.

Dr. David Rehr is an association CEO with over 25 years experience in advocacy, governance, federal policy, and management. He is currently a Professor at the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University where he teaches Legislative Advocacy and Strategic Leadership. His research areas focus on association leadership and communicating with the U.S. Congress. Most recently, Rehr was the lead researcher for Association CEO: Leading through Change (2016), Diversity and Inclusions, Core Values Among Associations (2017) and, the recently released, Association and Nonprofit Boards: Maximizing Effective Service. Rehr previously served as the President and CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). Before joining the NAB, Rehr was President of the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA). Rehr has been named to Washington Life magazine’s Power 100 list, and is annually listed as a Top Association Lobbyist by one of Congress’ “must read” publications, The Hill. Rehr has appeared ABC, NBC, CNBC, Hearst TV, Sinclair Broadcast, and FOX Business. Rehr is the author of a forthcoming eBook on the successful public affairs campaign on the Digital Television Transition, the largest marketing campaign in American television. International Performance magazine has published two of Rehr’s leadership articles, “Navigating Change: Leadership in Difficult Times,” and, “Leadership: The Word Becomes an Action.”
