David Murphy is a Senior Vice President-Wealth Management in the New York office of UBS Financial Services. He specializes in helping high net worth investors, small business owners and non-profit organizations achieve their investment goals. He accomplishes this through customized wealth management planning and assisting with retirement plans. He works with Non-Profit organizations to design, implement and review their investments .
Mr. Murphy has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining UBS, he was a Financial Advisor with Dean Witter before moving to Legg Mason in 1991. He was a Senior Accountant with Coopers and Lybrand and was awarded the CPA designation in 1983. He graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Boston College. Mr. Murphy also earned his MBA with a concentration in finance from New York University Stern School of Business.
Outside of UBS, Mr. Murphy is actively involved in his community. He was a visiting instructor for an Introduction to Investments course at the New School University in New York. He also contributes to a variety of publications, including Association Executive magazine. He volunteers with the American Heart Association, the Boston College Varsity Club, and the Asia Society.
Mr. Murphy is member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the New York Society of Association Executives (NYSAE). In 1999 he received the Outstanding Associate Member award from NYSAE and also the Distinguished Service Award in 2008. He is a current member of NYSAE's Board of Directors as well as a Past Treasurer. He is a former member of the American Heart Association-NYC Investment Committee and is currently a member of the prestigious New York Athletic Club.
