NYSAE’s New Officers and Board Enrich the Organization’s Range of Industry Expertise

New York, NY (June 2019) – The New York Society of Association Executives (NYSAE) has announced its new officers and directors for the next fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019.

Chairman of the Board is Charles M. Riotto; Chair-Elect Vijay Dandapani, Treasurer David P. Murphy, MBA, CPA; and Immediate Past Chair Gerard M. Thiers, CAE.

 

Charles Riotto is President Emeritus of Licensing International and has spent more than 40 years in association management. He previously served as Executive Director of the International Recording Media Association, and as Marketing Director and Executive Director of the Toy Manufacturers of America, Inc.

 

David Murphy is Senior Vice President of The Murphy Wealth Management Group at UBS, and Gerard Thiers is the Executive Director of ASAH, which serves New Jersey’s private special education community. New to the officer slate is Vijay Dandapani, President & CEO of the Hotel Association of New York City.

 

On the Board of Directors, two members were re-elected and five members will begin their first term. The Executive Director of ACG New York, Robert Blumenfeld, CAE, and the Associate Executive Director of Operations and Information Technology of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Dr. Robert Spangler, will retain their roles. Each serving 3-year terms, the newly elected directors are Donna J. Kelley, CMP, CASE, Global Account Executive of Marriott International Global Sales Organization; Anat Kendal, CPA/PFS, Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration for the Anti-Defamation League; Rhonda Payne, CAE, Chief Learning Officer of the ASAE/Center for Association Leadership; Mary Ellen Pelzer, Esq.,  Executive Director of The Fragrance Foundation; and Claire Rosenzweig, CAE, President & CEO of the Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan NY. Rosenzweig is a former Chair of NYSAE.

 

The following Directors remain on the Board to continue their terms:
