Two new stops join seven other bars and restaurants on the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau Gateway to Urban Bourbon Trail Passport Program. Open to all residents and visitors age 21 and older, the program allows individuals to collect unique stamps from each of the nine participating stops, each of which features at least 50 bourbons, and be rewarded with a special gift. New with this passport printing is a tiered prize system. Participants are encouraged to take their time enjoying Bourbon responsibly. The pace is entirely up to the participant as there is no time frame for completing the Passport. Without a public distillery tour in the city, but with so much bourbon heritage, the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau began a marketing initiative in 2006 promoting Louisville as the gateway to Bourbon Country. The passport program was launched May 30, 2008. Since then, more than 20,000 passports are in circulation with 400 people from five countries and 40 US states having redeemed them.
