The New Star Award, established in 1993, recognizes the significant contribution of a new NYSAE member (regular or associate) with fewer than three years of service made to NYSAE in the areas of committee work, special projects or new programs.
The criteria for this award are:

- Made significant contributions to NYSAE in areas of committee work, special projects or new programs.
